Job Summary
A postdoctoral fellow position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Liming Pei at the Center for Mitochondrial and Epigenomic Medicine at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and University of Pennsylvania. Our laboratory uses a range of molecular and cellular biology, mouse genetics, and single-cell multiomics technologies to study cardiovascular and metabolic biology and disease. The candidate will work closely with the other members of the research team.

Job Responsibilities
  • Conduct independent scholarly research and develop new methods and protocols
  • Participate in project planning, recording and evaluation of data
  • Acquire technical, lab management and grant writing skills
  • Participate in seminars, lectures, poster sessions and presentation at national meetings
  • Supervise junior lab members
  • Assist with other research projects
Required Education and Experience
  • A terminal degree PhD, MD, DVM, etc.
  • According to the CMS (Centers for Medicaid and Medicare Services) a copy of diploma or transcript is required as proof of academic achievement for all non-laboratory personnel performing non-waived POC testing

Additional Technical Requirements
To carry out its mission, it is of critical importance for the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) to keep our patients, families and workforce safe and healthy and to support the health of our global community. In keeping with this, CHOP has mandated all workforce members on site at any CHOP location for any portion of their time be vaccinated for COVID-19. This mandate also applies to workforce members performing work for CHOP at non-CHOP locations. The CHOP COVID-19 vaccine mandate is in alignment with applicable local, state and federal mandates.
CHOP also requires all workforce members who work in patient care buildings or who provide patient care to receive an annual influenza vaccine. Employees may request exemption consideration for CHOP vaccine requirements for valid religious and medical reasons.
